Exclusive Interview With Adrian Malinskiy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Malinskiy.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

I started my career in Tv production and entertainment after my graduation from University of Ibadan, where I acquired a Bachelors of Arts by organizing a one man drama for high school pupils. Afterwards I started a career in Banking and finance which spanned about 8 years. I further acquired an MBA in marketing and strategic management and a certification in filmmaking from New York Film academy. Therefore, I’m a documentary filmmaker, director and producer. In 2015 I founded Rocket Jump Co. and we since assisted the biggest companies in the world. We have built a solid client base both locally and internationally. We work for UN Women, CHESTRAD international, E.U, Love trust foundation etc.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

One of the major challenges I have faced is getting access to the funds that is needed to do most of the things we wish to accomplish. Despite this major limitation we have always found ways to ensure we deliver the best quality programs to our audience. One of the major challenges I have had to overcome is delivering a world class quality in the production of Borokini telenovela. It was challenging because it was the first of its kind by an independent production outfit that without outright sponsorship. We were trying to deliver the best story with the best technical quality. To achieve this we spent 9 months on developing a full proof story and selecting locations that best fit. We turned mere garages to beautiful offices, we built locations on bare ground. We turned houses around. We had to buy 64 terrabite of storage space, which cost a lot, because we were recording 4K raw. Borokini telenovela cost us 85million Naira to produce. To be able to achieve this project I had to sell of my two of my landed property. I’m happy that at the end of the day the audience liked what we delivered, even though we didn’t recover all the money.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

Firstly, I have acquired knowledge across several fields of life. I hold a Masters in Business Administration, which makes me a business administrator and coach. And I have rendered my services to a number of businesses. I have a certificate in filmmaking from the prestigious New York film academy. Therefore, I’m a film maker and I have produced film in different genre and language. I have produced more than 30 feature films, 20 documentaries, 10 Tv commercials. I have also produced several Tv dramas, I have produced more than 250 episodes of Awon Aladun De, 240 episodes of Borokini telenovela, 52 episodes of Family First, 30 episodes of Eleyinju Anu. I have produced over 600 episodes of Aajirebi the popular breakfast talk show. My profile shows that I have robust experience in film, TV and TV commercial production extensively. I’m very versatile in budget management, negotiation and talent management. In Rare Edge media we do not just satisfy our customers and clients. We try to go beyond their expectations and bring out things they are not even thinking about in their brief. We are very committed to excellence, quality and timely delivery of projects.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Dream a big dream. Then get going. But don’t go it alone. Find someone to break the wind for you. Follow a proven recipe for success. Then add your own nuts and marshmallows. The world is full of great stories. Find one you like. Or mix several together to create your own formula. But find a guide. You’ll get there faster. Then just keep going.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

For one person, it might mean making a million dollars. For another, it might mean raising a big family. For me, it looks like being able to spend the night with my kids doing homework and tossing a football around. For just about all of us, success also means financial freedom. Success eventually for me is financial freedom.

What’s next for you?

I’m producing a landmark documentary on the cradle of humankind. Which will capture all of the beliefs of Africans and especially Yoruba people on the origin of humankind. It’s major and important documentary that we hope to broadcast on Netflix, discovery channel etc. We essentially want to capture the African perspectives.
