After a successful 16-year corporate career with pharmaceutical giants like Pfizer and Roche Laboratories, Jason Murray pivoted into the financial services sector. He became a licensed advisor with Merrill Lynch in 2006—just before the 2008 financial crisis forced many out of the industry. While others folded, Murray adapted.
That same perseverance fueled his 13-year tenure at Transamerica Financial Advisors, where he built a multi-million-dollar financial practice, coached dozens of advisors, and led a team with distinction in a field historically lacking diversity. For Murray, quotas were never the destination—impact was.
Empowering the Next Generation
As a three-time bestselling author and At-Large Board Member of the Black National Speakers Association, Jason has leveraged his financial wisdom and leadership experience into a thriving speaking platform.

Raised by a single mother who worked as a banker, Murray learned the importance of financial literacy early on. But it was the loss of his first wife at 26 that shaped his sense of purpose. Suddenly a widower and single father of two young sons, Jason leaned into faith and family, eventually remarrying and raising a blended family of six children—now grandparents to 11.
“I’ve always been a leader,” he shares, referencing his early role in the Order of the Feather Fraternity, a rites-of-passage program for young men. “Leadership isn’t a title—it’s about who you choose to be in every season.”

Jason’s latest venture, The Abundant Network, is more than a business—it’s a movement dedicated to helping emerging entrepreneurs and middle-income families master their money, multiply their influence, and lead lives of abundance. His goal is to equip 10,000 entrepreneurs over the next decade with the mindset, mentorship, and methods needed to thrive.
“I want to empower the next generation of Black entrepreneurs, educators, and influencers,” says Murray. “That means building curriculum, speaking at institutions, and partnering with leaders who understand that financial freedom is a civil right.”
