A Vision Born from Purpose
For many entrepreneurs, the journey into business begins with a gap in the market. For Janie and Kathy, it began with a calling. Their shared mission was rooted in a simple but powerful realization that many women, especially those building businesses, are working tirelessly while neglecting the deeper needs of the soul.
Janie often describes their work in a simple phrase: Nourish Soul; Live Whole! Their business is about empowering the soul by deepening the walk with God–so that a person’s business can become even more powerful. They believe that when the soul is nourished, life becomes more whole and meaningful.
As the spiritual director for the Zig Ziglar international community, as well as a certified Ziglar coach and trainer, Janie had already spent years teaching and guiding others. Yet she long carried a dream of creating a dedicated space where women could receive spiritual support and renewal. In fact, she returned to school at the age of fifty-eight to earn a master’s degree in theology. During this time, Janie followed through on a vision to turn her backyard space, including a hillside, into a retreat center. Her final thesis focused on building a Women’s Center for SoulCARE.
Like many visionary ideas, the concept waited patiently for the right moment.
That moment arrived when Kathy entered the picture.
A Partnership Built on Complementary Strengths
Years ago, Kathy first met Janie in an unexpected way. She had booked a stay at Janie’s home through Airbnb. What began as a brief visit soon grew into a lasting friendship.
Kathy brought a very different skill set to the table. With a strong background in real estate and business operations, she excelled at organization, follow up, and the many logistical details that keep a company running. Janie, meanwhile, served as the teacher, speaker, and spiritual guide.
Together they discovered that their strengths formed a natural partnership. Kathy eventually encouraged Janie to step forward with the vision of the Women’s Center for SoulCARE. What had once been an idea quietly waiting in the background was finally ready to come to life.
A Pivotal Moment That Sparked Growth
Although the idea had existed for years, a defining turning point happened less than a year ago.
Kathy invited Janie to attend a networking event with her. Normally, Janie stayed within her own circles and speaking engagements. Yet something told her she needed to attend this particular event.
When she arrived, she encountered a room filled with ambitious women from many different industries. They were driven, determined, and working tirelessly to build their businesses.
In that moment, Janie recognized something deeper. Many of these women were pouring everything into their companies but had little time to nurture their own spiritual well being. The experience opened her eyes to a vast community of entrepreneurs who could benefit from the kind of guidance and restoration she offered.
From that day forward, the two began traveling, networking, and building relationships with women across the country.
Building a Business That Nourishes the Soul
Like many early stage ventures, the journey has included challenges. Visibility remains one of the biggest hurdles for any growing brand. However, Janie and Kathy have learned to rely on their individual strengths rather than trying to do everything alone.
Janie focuses on what only she can do. Teaching, speaking, counseling, and leading retreats that guide women toward deeper spiritual clarity. Kathy focuses on the operational backbone of the company, from social media outreach to administration and strategic follow up.
Their shared mission is simple. Help women flourish from the inside out.
Looking Ahead: Retreats, Masterminds, and Community
After a year that served as their launching pad, the future now looks expansive.
The Women’s Center for SoulCARE is preparing to host elegant, immersive retreats designed specifically for faith based women who want time to reflect, recharge, and grow. Janie is also launching a new seven month MASTERmind program for a small group of ten founding members. The empowering Scripture that undergrids the program is I Corinthians 2:16: “We have the mind of Christ.”
Within the program, she will guide participants through what she calls the “Sacred Path Adventure”, a journey built around Seven Sacred Signposts designed to help women navigate life and leadership with clarity, strength, and wisdom.
Alongside the MASTERmind, the organization also hosts the Sisters of the Heart Collective, a monthly gathering that provides ongoing encouragement and connection.
Together, these initiatives form a growing movement built on one central belief. When women care for their souls, they gain the strength and wisdom to lead powerful lives and businesses.
