Enrique José Rodríguez, originally from Maracaibo, has built an outstanding career in the world of art, communication and business. From a young age he ventured into theater, music and television production, working on channels such as NCTV and Globovisión Zulia. Certified as a commercial announcer, he stood out as a radio host before graduating in Social Communication with a mention in Advertising and Public Relations at the Rafael Belloso Chacín University.
Later, he combined his passion for marketing with his business experience, achieving the distribution of NYX Cosmetics in Venezuela and creating successful brands such as Candymenta and Chocomenta. In 2019 he moved to Miami, where he consolidated his career in public relations, digital marketing and social media. During the pandemic, he achieved virality on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, and in 2021 he debuted as host of the podcast “H menos H” and in stand-up comedy.
Since 2022, he has been a correspondent for the digital channel LAKW.TV, covering events such as the Grammys and the Billboards, and collaborating with major artists and record labels. Currently, he combines his work as an image and public relations consultant for Hyundai Doral with his role as a motivational coach for entrepreneurs, reaffirming his commitment to excellence and innovation. Today, he is a reference in Miami in the world of communications and social networks. For this reason, we have spoken with him about it:
-Throughout your career, you have combined multiple disciplines within the field of communications… How do you define the engine that drives you to constantly diversify and reinvent yourself in different areas?
-The main reason is to nourish yourself with public relations, the more people you meet, the broader your knowledge is because you discover incredible people in different areas from whom you learn a lot, that motivates me.
-You have worked with renowned brands such as NYX Cosmetics and Hyundai, as well as with internationally renowned artists through LAKW.TV. What do you think has been the key to building a solid relationship with such influential brands and figures in various sectors?
-Credibility! Without a doubt, being responsible with what you say and what you do makes you real. Once people see you as someone who is constant and coherent, that generates trust, which draws the attention of the public and brands that believe in you. I think credibility is my calling card in communications.
-During the pandemic, you managed to stand out on social media with viral content on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. What strategies or approaches did you implement to effectively connect with such a diverse digital audience at such a challenging time?
–Speaking to them directly and with positive energy, I managed to understand that the public wants to be informed, but in a dynamic way, that is, to be able to find out about what is happening but in an easy way and that at the same time is a bit fun, either by using slightly humorous words or gesturing at the news, in addition to sharing current information, events that are happening immediately, because people always want to be well informed.
-As a motivational coach for entrepreneurs, what lessons from your own career do you consider most valuable to inspire those who seek to innovate or excel in competitive markets?
-The most important thing is consistency and perseverance, not listening to people who bring negativity and discouragement, but listening to those who truly bring valuable advice.
-Your work as a correspondent for LAKW.TV has led you to cover high-profile events such as the Latin Grammys and the Billboards. What has been the greatest learning from these experiences, and how do they influence your perspective on international communication and public relations?
-I have learned that fame is ephemeral, that artists, no matter how great they are, are human beings like any other. This has allowed me to have a more human vision of the arts, understanding that we are all equal, that we are all fighting for the same dream, which is to achieve our goals.
At the level of communication and public relations, I could add that I have learned that the sky is the limit and that through good communication you can go as far as you set out to go.
