Erin Jo Harris Takes the Lead in Faith Based Film Turning Point

For actress and songwriter Erin Jo Harris, some of the most meaningful decisions in her career have involved opportunities she chose to walk away from.

Despite receiving major role offers and bookings, Harris has declined projects that did not align with her mission to uplift culture. The financial rewards may have been appealing, but she has found greater satisfaction in protecting the values that guide her work.

That commitment has shaped her latest professional milestone. In May 2026, Harris completed filming the female lead in Turning Point, a faith based feature film shot in Las Vegas, Nevada. The project marks her second leading role in a feature film within two years.

For Harris, the accomplishment is particularly meaningful because the film’s themes reflect the convictions she has worked to preserve throughout her career.

A Story More Than a Decade in the Making

Turning Point explores family relationships, redemption and the distinction between outward religious practice and genuinely following Jesus.

The film stars Harris opposite Kaiwi Lyman and was written by Billy Crone and John Prescott. Prescott also serves as director, with Get a Life Media producing.

The project spent more than 10 years in development before reaching production. Harris describes the experience as one marked by unexpected connections, an international cast and crew, and moments she considers evidence of divine orchestration.

She calls these experiences “God winks,” circumstances that have reinforced her belief that faith has played a meaningful role in her professional journey.

“In an industry full of ambiguity and gatekeepers, I’ve found the best way to ‘make it’ is truly to put God first and make Him your business partner, agent and manager,” Harris said.

The Value of Knowing When to Say No

Harris understands the appeal of accepting a substantial role or lucrative booking. Yet she believes professional success loses some of its meaning when it requires compromising personal integrity.

Turning down opportunities that conflict with her mission has become an important part of how she navigates entertainment. She considers the peace and grounding that come from those decisions more rewarding than the financial benefits of accepting work that contradicts her convictions.

As a working actress, signed songwriter and certified chaplain, Harris brings that commitment into several creative disciplines. She describes herself as a “Heaven Permaculturist,” someone seeking to cultivate holy creative environments through artistic expression while inspiring healing and cultural growth.

Preparing for the Next Creative Chapter

With filming completed, Harris is taking a break before the release of Turning Point to develop another project: a music related feature film set in the 1970s.

The upcoming project represents an opportunity to bring her interests in storytelling and music together.

For Harris, the next chapter is less about accumulating credits than continuing to pursue work that reflects her purpose.

Her second leading feature role in two years demonstrates professional momentum. The opportunities she has declined reveal something equally important about the career she is building.

In an industry where saying yes can open doors, Harris has found that knowing when to say no can provide a different kind of freedom.
