Exclusive Interview with D-Brown

Today we’d like to introduce you to D-Brown.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

I been writing music since a kid but recorded my first song is high school. That led to a whole project and consequently led to me being nominated for most talented student by the end of my senior year. I always wrote musically for therapy. My childhood wasn’t ideal so I used to put my pain on paper. Stuck with it and stayed consistent enough to build a buzz around my city but I always had distractions so I never gave music my all. Once I decided to lock all the way I haven’t looked back. Constantly growing, networking, investing and building off the momentum of my latest release with the Dallas Legend Mo3 just recently surpassing 100k collected views between 2 official videos on YouTube.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

It’s always bumps in the road but that’s just part of the game. One of the biggest challenges as an artist is deciphering what services are authentic. Everyday you got a million ppl soliciting services for PR, shows, radio spins, blog posts, follower increase, YouTube views and etc. You end up spending a lot of money on the wrong things to find the right things or relationships to invest in. I spent a lot of money gettin to this point.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

Really just tryna motivate the streets through my music. Rather it be trap production inspiring ppl to get some money or soulful production where I prefer to vent about the past or ups and downs I deal with on the daily. Also wanna Shed light on my city cuz it’s alot of talent there. My goal is to be my city’s version of home grown labels like Quality Control or Yo Gottis CMG label. Everybody around me I believe in and also a fan of their music or whatever they do. I don’t really focus on competition. Just stay in my own lane tryna figure out how to get my first million and creating millionaires of everyone around me.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Your time is the most valuable thing you got because it’s the only thing you can’t get back once you spend it on anything. Ain’t no refunds, replays or re dos. Be intentional to what you invest your time in because that can be the deciding factor of you reaching your goals. You can’t spend all day watching tv or on the phone and expect to be the best or most effective at what you do.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success to me is generational wealth and being able to live comfortably off my talent or investments and put others in position to do the same thing. I definitely feel like the measure of success is how many more ppl you make rich or successful.

What’s next for you?

Getting ready to drop a full length project soon after this off the porch interview in Atlanta. Been building relationships in Texas and Atlanta all year and things are finally falling into place. Plan on keeping the momentum going with the catalog of songs I been building with features from Peezy from Detroit, Kirko Bang, T-Rell, and more.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?
