Exclusive Interview With Athlete, Entrepreneur, and Street Wear Fashion Designer Mohamed Coulibaly

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mohamed Coulibaly.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
How did you get to where you are today?

My journey started in 2017 during my time in high school, I have a love for sneakers and fashion so I decided to start to sneaker resell business in Philadelphia PA. The key to my success was honestly my work ethic, personality, self discipline, and knowing the importance of networking and building connections. I would offer celebrities free or discounted shoes to really just get my name out there, sometimes I would meet up with them and they would post my page and their fans would come shop with me I realized this method worked when I made 45k in just one day. My family as always done well for themselves so whenever I meet and network with people it’s really just me being genuine not asking for handouts or anything, so most of my connections shifts to friendships. A lot people are in this “you’re too young relax” “you have time” mentality when in reality we don’t. Once I broke that mental barrier I went to the E-commerce and crypto world where there’s no age limits. I turned my sneaker company into business that made nearly 2 million dollars in sales, then multiple 6 figure E-commerce stores, and now I started a clothing called Motion Apparelz which in the next year or I hope to be on the same level as my other ventures.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

My biggest challenge was bypassing the traditional African culture way of making money. As everyone know African parents can be very strict and controlling, I prioritize my connections a lot so when it came time to go to concerts, parties, or just events in general to make those connections it was always a struggle for me due to the beliefs and ideas my parents had. Once I bypassed those it came down to me going back and forth between my dream of becoming a professional soccer player and maintaining my entrepreneurship journey, I thought about giving up because I was already making 7 figures by my senior year of high school then I realized my love for playing was so much more than money and I could build more connections by playing. I would travel a lot so it’s easy to lose sight, that’s where self discipline comes in to play. I would bring my cleats everywhere I go so while I’m posting vacation pictures I’m always improving physically and mentally day in and day out

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I’m a jack of all trades and master of monetization. I tell people I can monetize anything I can in my life, monetizing doesn’t always have to me cash value I feel like it’s simple minded if you see it as that. We live in the social media era where you can literally charge people money to have a conversation with you. I adapted to this era of business quickly, and to be honest this era of business is mostly just getting on trends and mastering it or setting the trend. I don’t offer public services to people because I simply just don’t have the time to do it, for the people wondering I would offer consulting services regarding e-commerce and just building a brand. My highest earning month was 385k back in February on 2022.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

I would say never let the power of money take control over you, money is a power source that can definitely change someone. When you don’t let that happen to start to prioritize things such as being a good person, building connections, working harder. Another advice is learn the importance of saying no because yes is very expensive. Yes is expensive because you’re committing your energy, availability, the limited time we already have and your bank account. If you’re always telling people yes it starts to lose value the word no will qualify a relationship, because there’s some relationships that only work because you always say yes to me them. Also, I would say just enjoy the journey don’t get to caught up in the grind 24/7 mentality it’s not healthy.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

The meaning of success varies depending on the person who’s answering to me success is being in a position to provide you and your loved ones and also making a positive impact on the ones around you. If I could put two or three people around me in a better position in life that’s a form of success to me.

What’s next for you?

Next I would really like to continue to build my brand and improve day in and day out. I want to make a name for myself in The professional soccer world and in the fashion world with my clothing line Motion Apparelz that’s my priority at the moment.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?
