Nick Edwards didn’t set out to become an entrepreneur. He set out to solve a problem.
After years of serving in various leadership roles, he watched organizations—from businesses to churches—struggle with the same recurring issues: lack of clarity, broken communication, inconsistent execution, and stunted development.
“I walked through seasons of leadership where I was tired of seeing organizations struggle,” he recalls. “My pain became the fuel that clarified my true calling: to empower leaders, strengthen teams, and shape legacies.”
That calling became My Leadership Coach, a leadership and executive coaching platform that helps business owners, executives, and entrepreneurs discover the clarity, systems, and frameworks they need to thrive.
Building a Brand With Purpose
Edwards’ vision wasn’t to build a brand that revolved around him—it was to create a system that could outlast him. But that clarity didn’t make the early days easier.
“The hardest part was marketing,” he says. “I wasn’t selling a product. I was selling transformation. And that meant putting myself front and center, which felt egotistical.”
The challenge forced him to refine how he communicated value, framing his work around client results rather than personal promotion.
The Leap of Faith
Momentum shifted when referrals began pouring in. Suddenly, Edwards was juggling a full-time job and an expanding roster of coaching clients.
“It was that moment that I set a date, quit my job, and went all in,” he says.
The leap was risky—but it paid off. Freed from divided focus, Edwards could scale his systems, reach more leaders, and deepen the impact of his work.
Advice for the Next Generation of Leaders
Asked what he tells up-and-coming entrepreneurs, Edwards offers a clear three-part framework:
- Define your destination. “Know what you want and what success looks like.”
- Get started. “There is no success without action.”
- Don’t stop. “Resistance always precedes results.”
This framework now shapes how he coaches leaders to build organizations that last.
Life Beyond Balance
Edwards believes traditional work-life balance is a myth.
“The goal is not balance but mastery,” he says. “Be fully present where you are. If you win at business and lose at home…you lose.”
His personal anti-burnout strategy includes three core habits: learn something new daily, be intentional with time and energy, and add value to every conversation.
Looking Ahead
With his upcoming book, Big Dream, Small Steps, and his forthcoming podcast Leading Forward, Edwards aims to inspire a new generation of faith-driven leaders to dream big—and act boldly.
“Dreaming big is essential,” he says. “But the key is taking small, consistent steps that lead to meaningful results.”
