How Kyle Robinson Built a Resilient Mindset Through Relentless Repetition

When Kyle Robinson talks about perseverance, it’s not theory—it’s survival. The former professional baseball player turned speaker and founder of Relentless Repetition has lived through triumph, collapse, and redemption.

Once an athlete chasing Major League dreams, Robinson’s life took a dark turn after surgery led to an addiction to painkillers that spiraled into heroin and meth use. Years later, after seven overdoses, homelessness, and more than a year in county jail, he found clarity—and purpose.

“I realized I wasn’t supposed to die,” Robinson says. “I was supposed to use my story to help others find their way out.”

The Power of Relentless Repetition

From that realization came Relentless Repetition, a brand rooted in one core belief: success belongs to those willing to do the monotonous, unglamorous work—again and again.

“Whether you’re an athlete, entrepreneur, or executive, everything you want is on the other side of relentless repetition,” Robinson says. “It’s the daily grind that builds elite performance.”

Robinson speaks across the country, blending humor, honesty, and raw storytelling to motivate teams and individuals to keep showing up, even when the process feels thankless. His method is simple but transformative: resilience isn’t built in the spotlight—it’s forged in private, repetitive effort.

Balancing Business, Work, and Purpose

Though his business is still young, Robinson balances his growing speaking career with a full-time role in leadership development.

“The challenge is finding time for everything—family, work, and building my own brand,” he says. “But compared to addiction, these are good problems to have.”

He credits his discipline and athletic background for giving him the endurance to manage multiple priorities without losing focus on his mission.

Lessons in Mentorship

Robinson emphasizes the power of mentorship for anyone chasing big goals.

“Surround yourself with people who are wiser and wealthier,” he advises. “Ask questions fearlessly. The only wrong question is the one you don’t ask.”

Encounters with mentors like Damon West and Paul Getter have reinforced that principle. Both inspired him to keep refining his message and to never underestimate the power of persistence.

The Obsession Mindset

To Robinson, success requires obsession. “There’s no such thing as balance when you’re building something great,” he says. “You have to be fully bought in.”

Still, he stresses the need for healthy release. “The gym saved my life. It’s where I recharge and stay grounded.”

Robinson’s daily workouts, outdoor walks, and moments of reflection are part of what he calls his “mental reset.”

Building the Future

Looking ahead, Robinson envisions expanding Relentless Repetition into sports programs, universities, and leadership organizations nationwide.

His ultimate goal: help athletes and high performers master the mindset that took him from addiction to entrepreneurship.

“People see the highlight reel,” he says, “but they don’t see the lonely, repetitive work it takes to become elite. That’s where the magic happens.”
