Jessica Summers on Self Awareness, Leadership and Her Top Host Podcast Journey

Leadership is often measured through visible accomplishments, professional influence and the ability to make difficult decisions. Jessica Summers believes another quality deserves greater attention: the willingness to understand oneself.

As a certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) practitioner, author and founder of Peace Power Purpose, Summers works with individuals and teams to explore the thinking and behavioral patterns that influence their experiences.

Through Jessica Summers LLC, she encourages people to examine how their perspectives affect their choices, relationships and interactions.

Her book, The Road to Now, marks an important milestone in that work. Now, Summers is pursuing another opportunity to share her message as a contestant in the 2026 Top Host podcast competition.

The Internal Work Behind Leadership

Professional success does not necessarily translate into personal awareness.

Someone may develop strong leadership skills while remaining unaware of the beliefs influencing their decisions. Familiar reactions can become ingrained, shaping how people communicate, respond to criticism and navigate uncertainty.

Summers believes recognizing those patterns is essential to meaningful change.

She describes her professional purpose in straightforward terms: she wakes people up for a living.

Her CBT training provides a foundation for understanding the relationship between thoughts and behaviors. Yet Summers approaches personal development through lived experience as well, describing herself as an example of the principles she teaches.

That perspective shapes her belief that change begins with an honest examination of oneself.

Why Awareness Requires Courage

Recognizing an unhelpful pattern can be uncomfortable. Acting on that recognition often requires even greater commitment.

Summers does not present healing as an effortless process.

“Healing isn’t fluff. It’s courage,” she says.

For leaders, that philosophy raises questions about accountability. How do personal assumptions influence professional decisions? What happens when familiar reactions interfere with communication or relationships?

Summers encourages people to consider those questions rather than assume every challenge originates outside themselves.

Her approach connects personal responsibility with the possibility of making different choices.

A New Opportunity Through Top Host

Summers is now bringing that philosophy into another public arena through the 2026 Top Host competition.

The contest gives participants an opportunity to compete for a six episode podcast produced by iHeartRadio, a guest appearance on On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and a $25,000 prize.

Summers is seeking to advance into the Top 5, with voting for the round closing Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 7 PM PST.

Her vision for podcasting centers on honest conversations, personal stories and subjects people may hesitate to discuss openly. She wants listeners to feel comfortable being themselves while finding humor, perspective and connection in difficult experiences.

The opportunity aligns with the themes she has developed through Peace Power Purpose and The Road to Now.

Bringing Awareness to a Wider Audience

Whether speaking to individuals, working with teams or pursuing a podcast platform, Summers returns to the importance of recognizing one’s own potential for change.

“The answers to the questions will come when the questions are no longer there,” she says.

For Summers, awareness creates room for a different perspective. Her message remains simple: “Be the change.”
