I would like to start by saying that Nico Ruiz is that sigh or that salvation pill in the current musical staff. Making it very clear that his talent, voice, musical style, coupled with his great charisma, places him today and not far away in the future, in the ranking of musical talents of the new order. Not the prepaid music charts like Billboard, Spotify, among others. He is a genuine talent, the likes of which few can be visualized in the social media algorithm. I came across him with a cover he made of Christmas and the impact was overwhelming. It was like a gift to my ears. He is the protagonist of a unique and melodious journey. A musical journey that has taken him from the intimacy of his bedroom to the stages where today he captivates his audience. Since his childhood, Ruiz demonstrated his passion for music, singing in his own space, immersed in his world and listening attentively to his idols: Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and other musical greats.

With his authenticity and talent, he is leaving an indelible mark on the contemporary music scene. That’s why I wanted to dedicate a space to him so that others like me can marvel at his talent and have the opportunity to get to know him from his heart and soul. Here are his statements:

-How did you get started in the world of music?

-I started when I was 15 years old, since I was a child I sang in my room, very introverted and immersed in my world, listening to my idols and singing his songs like Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley among others. All he dreamed of was… one day reaching the big leagues and motivating people to do what they love, I never imagined that he would later be giving concerts.

-What are your biggest musical influences and how have they impacted your style and your development as an artist?

– My biggest influences are Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Michael Buble, Ctangana, Dean Martín, Louis Prima among others. They have had an impact on my songs, my staging, my way of speaking to the public, always preserving my personal essence and what I grew up with, one has to rescue the best of their idols, but never be like them, the first idol must be yourself, in the sense that no one is going to do what you do just the way you do it, that is why you must take advantage of it as your distinctive seal, as a gift, as what identifies and characterizes you, not try to change it, too. always use it as a way to contribute to society.

-Could you share a little about your creative process when composing and selecting songs for your albums? How do you decide the tone and theme of your songs?

-When composing I am always guided by what I feel, melodies that represent my vintage essence, at the same time I mix with modern sounds and lyrics that represent the energy of the song and the message I want to convey, always what sounds good on guitar sounds good. good anywhere. Therefore I start with guitar in hand and start creating, I get ideas from my favorite artists and bring back an era that many believe is forgotten but is more latent than ever.

– Rank these artists in order of importance to you: Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, Luis Miguel, Michael Bublé, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole.

-Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Nat King Cole, Luis Miguel, Tom Jones.

How do you define your time in reality show spaces dedicated to music?… Do you feel that it was a platform for who you are today as an artist?

-The spaces and programs in which I participated were a very important platform to show the world what I always wanted to show, without my appearances on TV it would not have been the same. Contests are always a good environment to develop yourself and learn from healthy competition, the idea is to rescue the best even from difficult moments and use everything to grow.

-As a young artist, you have surely had experiences on stage. Could you tell us a memorable anecdote or a performance that was especially meaningful to you?

– My most memorable moments are my concerts, being on stage in front of the audience that came to see you exclusively is a dream, you become addicted to that energy and want to give and share everything you have for your people, it is a instance of ecstasy and at the same time of great responsibility. Although the idea is to enjoy, one should never forget that this is a profession, you must vocalize, take care of yourself, be respectful, empathetic and close to those who make this possible, the public is always the most important. I don’t have any concert that has been the most important, I feel that every time I enter the stage, it is a new chapter to discover, each one is unique and that is precisely what gives magic to each appearance, not getting attached to a performance in specific, but to get attached to all of them.

-Could you share a little about your creative process? How do you decide the tone and theme of your songs? In the case of your covers, do you prefer to imitate or put your own style on it?

-Of course, one grows a lot in each song that one releases, each song is part of artistic exploration and the search for one’s own identity, if we listen to the first songs of artists like Frank Sinatra, Elvis or even Bad Bunny, we can see that they began with a less distinctive voice, they adopted their signature as time went by, that happens to all of us.

-As you grow as an artist, it’s natural for your music and style to evolve. How would you describe the evolution of your music and how have you adapted to current trends?

-The evolution of my music is to “Revolutionize” and bring back vintage/Jazz music, each song I release has that essence more marked.

-Many young people dream of following your footsteps in the music industry. What advice would you give to those who are starting out and want to stand out?

-The best advice for those who want to stand out is to be themselves. Today there is a lot of doing what everyone else does because it is easier, it sells more and it is more generic. That’s not a bad thing either, but if what we are looking for is to stand out for ourselves then it is precisely about being ourselves. Do what you like, not what you think others might like, your happiness comes first and that will make people vibrate with you, there is no doubt about that, when you see someone on stage doing what they He loves, doing what from the outside you can see is undoubtedly what he was born to do, we enjoy him, we see him happy and we are infected with that, now let’s infect the rest of our happiness and make them part of this musical career.

-What is the new thing that Nico has to offer his followers…

-This year is full of surprises, I can’t say much, but they are things that I never expected to experience, international producers, the USA, Mexico, concerts and new premieres will be the titles that mark this 2024. But the one I like the most is the cliché of Adventure, that we never lose ambition and the desire to learn and face challenges that take us out of our comfort zone, when we are underground we will take nothing more than those memorable moments, those moments that make us feel satisfied with what we did. You have to do things with passion, never stay still, water that doesn’t flow stagnates, love those close to you who will always be there and give your best, Nico Ruiz concluded by saying, the new value of vintage music from this was.
