It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
My name is Nwankwo Onyebuchi Johnkingsley better known under the name as KEIDAN, I’m an entertainer and entrepreneur
I’m the 4th child of 6 siblings, I’m a twin , my twin is a girl.I’m a firm believer in God and spirituality and I trace all my steps to God.
I grew up in onitsha with my family, during my days in onitsha, I attended my primary and secondary school in onitsha, my parents did all their best to make sure I go to school amidst the low financial crisis we had at the time , after school I joined my mother who is into oil and gas business , where I worked so hard for her and attracted so many customers including Mtn Nigeria, Access bank, fidelity , etc , during the 5 years I worked for my mother, by God’s grace I had the opportunity to be appointed in some leadership positions in the church , NGO, political party and music group , these responsibilities helped to build me up in terms of human relationship and project management. I’m highly committed to any role or position I find myself, I’m mostly loved as someone that finds a solution to a critical situation. Later , I moved to Lagos to pursue my music career and business. I got admission into University of Lagos, where I had my BSC in Psychology, I choose to study psychology , so I can understand people more and why people behave in certain ways. I Released my first song titled “nue nue” while in my 300 level and during those days , I had the opportunity to work with notable names in the music industry and contributed to a lot of upcoming artist success stories.
I also did some part time work with a real estate company , furniture company and fashion company in Nigeria, most of these slowed me down from pursuing my music career and also lack of finance to sponsor my music promotions.
During my days in onitsha and in university of Lagos, I had so much passion for fashion and styling, my passion for fashion gave birth to KEIDAN SIGNATURE BRAND.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
During my early stage in life, I faced so many challenges which mostly was handling different things at the same time, because of lack financial freedom, I had to take on so many menial jobs , back up artist in the studio, serve as a waiter in events, sells music CD’s, sell clothes, sells shoes in the hostel, did laundry for my fellow students in the hostel, worked in a night club and also as a sales personal in a furniture store and real estate company. I did all sort of hustles in order to raise funds to continue with my education and to feed. It wasn’t easy handling so many things at the same time and going to school, I could have given up , but because of my commitment to education, I fought through till I graduated. I’m very grateful today for all this , even though it was indeed very stressful but all this built me up and gave me different experiences and knowledge.
Also, building KEIDAN Brand , me and my team had little resources compare to other competitors in the fashion field, we had issues from productions, equipments, marketing and advertising, it was indeed a real struggle but we didn’t relent because we can see a bigger picture ahead of us.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialise in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I’m an entertainer and an entrepreneur.
As an entertainer , I’m a performing artist and a co founder of EMINENT WAVE CONCEPT ENTERTAINMENT, we provide music promotions, music distributions, advertising, tours, events production, artist branding for artist and label. We have had over 9 years experience in entertainment scene with traceable evidence and testimonies of our previous clients, our aim is to impact the entertainment industry. We discovered that there are so many talents and passions in the entertainment Industry but lack of proper direction and steps to take to turn there passion to achievement, our major goal is to discover the unique talents and expose them to the world with our innovative promotional strategies.
As an entrepreneur , I founded a fashion company Name KEIDAN SIGNATURE BRAND, which I co-owned with my brother Chinedu Nicodemus Nwankwo, KEIDAN Brand is born out of inspiring, creativity and innovation, our aim is to create an inspiring fashion lifestyle and to make fashion accessible to all in different levels of life. We help individuals, cooperate bodies and celebrities to solve fashion related issues by providing an outstanding, unique and quality designs for different occasions. I intend to inspire fashion lovers with my creativity
Also, As a professional trained realtor, I invest and also help other investors to create a lifelong profitable niche in the real estate industry, from lands, to houses, to apartments, etc
I value real estate so much because it’s a life long profitable investment.
My vision is to provide aspirational products and services in fashion, real estate and entertainment.
I help individuals invest wisely in the right properties and provide a comfortable environment for business.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
My best advice to all , is to always learn a new skill, read always make yourself available to serve others in any given chance , by serving you will be equipped with wisdom , skills and knowledge.
Also be patience while doing the right thing, don’t waste your time in fun always , but have time for when necessary, also network with valuable people and keep your relationship with them tight.
also read valuable books, knowledge is power.
Lastly read the book of Ecclesiastes 11:1-4, and you won’t depend on one business, as a human we have different potentials inside of us, we are created not just for ourselves but also to add value to others, that is ; we are created for others, awaken your potentials and put it at work.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success to me is when you are able to impact another human being positively and when you put your best knowledge to work.
Some people only think but they can’t bring it to reality , if you can solve this puzzle , that’s what I call success
