Sumit Thakur – The Youngest Digital Entrepreneur from India

Today we’d like to introduce you to SUMIT THAKUR.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Well, thank you for having me here. Firstly, I would like to thank my parents who didn’t interfere with my idea of getting into e-commerce from an early age. I was 18 when I saw my friends purchasing stuff online. Things like branded shoes, watches, t-shirts, and electronic gadgets – that sort of stuff. This concept of getting things delivered right at your doorstep intrigued me. I wanted to know what goes on behind the scenes of these websites. That made me explore e-commerce further. While researching about this industry, I came to know about dropshipping. And I soon realized that many websites use this technique to start online businesses. I just wanted to help new entrepreneurs fulfill their dream of starting a business. And, that’s the idea that made me take this up full-time in my career.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

I too, had struggles and failures. I even made bad investments where I lost all my money, but all that could not stop me from chasing my dreams. My secret to success was my consistency in effort and perpetual thirst for digital and technology space.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I specialised in ecommerce, earning a fortune every day. My turnover has crossed a whopping USD 850k and still counting. Whatever I owns today has been achieved with my hard work and entrepreneurial skills. The philosophy of my life so far has been to guide others to fulfil their dreams. I don’t only inspire millions of online store owners with my risk-taking abilities, but mine never-yielding spirit has opened a new gateway of opportunities for many. I used my entrepreneurial skills to become an e-commerce icon for many.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

I say this to every entrepreneur who seeks my help: don’t rush your business. Watching your business grow is like raising a kid. You can’t expect a 6-month old baby to know all the letters in the English alphabet. Similarly, you should give your business some time to respond. Whether it is Indian entrepreneurs or any other businessman in the world, overnight success in the e-commerce industry is a myth.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

For me, Success is learning something new each day. I understand that learning never stops. Take time each day to converse with someone with opposing views, read an interesting article on a topic you know little about, or watch a TED talk on new research. It doesn’t take long to learn, so get started now.

What’s next for you?

As the world is gearing towards a new era of online shopping, I’m going to start servicing to the small business owners from all over the world to grow their sales online.
