Leadership speaker and entrepreneur Terrence Demps II is gaining recognition within the public speaking community after advancing to the District Competition for Table Topics in Toastmasters International. The achievement comes only weeks after he first joined the organization, demonstrating a remarkable rise in competitive speaking.
Demps initially earned first place at the club level before advancing to the area competition. Although he originally placed second at the area level, he was later informed by the Area Director that the first place winner would not be able to attend the district competition. As a result, Demps will now represent his area on the district stage, a moment that reflects both opportunity and preparedness.
The competition took place in Atlanta in November 2025, where Demps demonstrated the quick thinking and persuasive speaking skills required in the Table Topics category. The format challenges participants to deliver impromptu speeches, testing their ability to organize thoughts and communicate effectively under pressure.
For Demps, the milestone represents more than a competition result. It highlights the power of decisive action and personal growth. Having joined Toastmasters only about a month before his early competition success, his progress reinforces a mindset he frequently shares with audiences.
“If you think of what you have to do as easy it will become so,” Demps said.
The rapid achievement also reflects a larger journey of professional development and leadership training. Over the past year, Demps has immersed himself in multiple growth programs and educational pursuits. In 2025 he enrolled in the Speakpreneur program with Paul Getter and completed the Paid to Speak program with Dutton Mindset. He also joined Next Level Academy led by Jeremy Anderson and Eric Thomas in May of that same year.
His commitment to leadership development extends beyond speaking programs. Demps launched his first professional development workshop in Moscow, Russia in May 2025 and continues to pursue academic growth as a student at Lake Sumter State College, where he is studying for a Bachelor of Applied Science in Leadership with a concentration in Organizational Management.
Demps also completed the prestigious United States Marine Corps Marine Security Guard program in August 2025, further strengthening the leadership principles that shape his work as a speaker and mentor.
Today, Demps channels these experiences into his company, Demps Creative Enterprises LLC. The organization focuses on leadership and personal development, helping individuals use their voice as a tool for influence, impact, and professional growth.
