The Business of Obedience: How PetroVybe Is Making Faith Scalable

Forget 10x growth hacks and investor buzzwords. For Peter Snell, the CEO of PetroVybe, business isn’t about dominance—it’s about obedience. And in his world, obedience isn’t passive. It’s powerful.

When Success Meets Surrender

Snell’s journey to stewardship started with the absence of it.

“I didn’t have a frame for it because it wasn’t natural for me. Moreover, the world perspective is noisy… focusing on money and leisure. It’s ‘earn more so you can consume, consume, consume.’ Or, ‘save for retirement’ so you can live the life you want. Either way, it’s a self-first perspective.”

After decades of wins and losses, searching for more meaning in his work and impact, Snell hit an inflection point with a question:

“What if this business isn’t mine to own?”

“My grandpa and dad were successful men. But what inspired me most was their surrender—after they had already won.”

That lineage shaped Snell’s conviction: success isn’t measured by what you control, but by what you give.

From Hustle to Kingdom Outpost

Like many entrepreneurs, Snell tried to make the hustle holy. He prayed over deals. He asked God to bless the plan.

But eventually, he realized he was doing it backward.

“I had to stop asking God to bless my plans and start asking Him to lead them.”

The shift came through Scripture—Matthew 25 and the elder criteria in Paul’s letters. From there, PetroVybe’s culture was born.

Clarity > Scale

PetroVybe may operate in oil and gas, but its mission goes beyond energy. It’s about demonstrating that faith-driven stewardship can scale.

“We’re not chasing buzz. We’re building with biblical clarity.”

That’s evident in PetroVybe ONE, a natural gas development project meeting explosive global demand for the #1 fuel source—natural gas—fueling the grid capacity expansion driven by AI data centers and population growth.

Hard Lessons and Resolve

Snell admits: the road has been harder than expected.

“We thought Kingdom obedience would bring ease. Instead, it brought depth. We are learning to grow right and steward well.”

PetroVybe’s trajectory has required sacrifice, precision, and unwavering conviction. But the results are shaping a company built to last.

For Founders Feeling the Weight

To those grinding in silence, Snell offers this:

“You don’t need clarity for five years. You need obedience for today. If God called you to it, stay faithful through it.”

The Bigger Picture

Snell is also speaking on podcasts and sharing a message of inspiration and practical approaches for being bold for Jesus at work.

“This generation doesn’t just want growth. They want meaningful growth. And that starts with obedience to King Jesus.”
